Something Picasso

Created during Aries season, Something Picasso marked a period of trusting instinct over perfection. I wanted the painting to feel playful, expressive, and just a little unexpected. The koi, lily pads, and water are all familiar subjects in my work, but this time I allowed the brushstrokes to stay loose and the composition to wander.

Rather than chasing realism, I leaned into movement. The lines search, overlap, and interrupt one another, creating a painting that feels alive from every distance. From across the room it reads as calm and graphic. Up close, each mark reveals its own energy.

Part of the Land & Sea collection, Something Picasso explores the space between observation and imagination. It's a reminder that sometimes the most interesting work happens when you stop trying to control every outcome and simply respond to what's unfolding in front of you.
