Created during Aries season for the Moncus Park Iris Festival, Hidden Water Garden was part of a season of trying new things. Rather than focusing on a single subject, I became interested in the quiet spaces surrounding the blooms. The reflections, lily pads, and pockets of still water that are easy to overlook but just as much a part of the landscape.

This small painting is about slowing down long enough to notice those hidden moments. The layered brushstrokes create a sense of movement across the water while allowing the landscape to reveal itself gradually, inviting you to look a little closer each time you pass by.

Part of the Land & Sea collection, Hidden Water Garden celebrates the quieter side of South Louisiana. A reminder that some of the most beautiful places aren't the ones demanding attention. They're the ones waiting to be discovered.
