Keep Me Where the Love Is

Keep Me Where the Love Is
Keep Me Where the Love Is- Original Painting with Thrifted Vintage Frame
~30 x 30 inches (panel)
Acrylic on Birchwood
This piece came out of a pull I keep coming back to. Mid century color, bold, saturated, alive, keeps finding its way into my work. It feels like alignment more than inspiration. Like remembering something instead of inventing it.
I think a lot about how much color the world used to have. Not in a nostalgic way, but in a way that feels urgent. A desire to bring that kind of vibrance back into everyday spaces. To live with it, not just reference it.
This piece began with the frame. I found this vintage estate frame first and built the painting to live inside it, cutting the birchwood panel specifically to fit. It was designed as a complete object from the start.
There is a Golden Girls, vibrant Miami energy here, but Louisiana coded. Warm, lush, a little playful, and very much alive.
This piece is available on its own or in the original vintage frame it was created for. Framed price: $2,200.
This is a piece for someone who wants to live with color. Not quietly, but fully.
