Created during Aries season, this painting came from thinking about movement. Aries is often associated with beginnings, momentum, and the instinct to chase what comes next.

The painting began with the frame. I found this vintage frame tucked away in a corner at an estate sale in my neighborhood, nearly overlooked among a pile of forgotten objects. It felt too beautiful to leave behind, so I built the painting specifically for it, cutting the birchwood panel to fit. The frame isn't an afterthought. It's part of the artwork's story.

This piece also marks a return to something I keep finding in my work. Rich color. Mid-century influence. Warmth that feels familiar without becoming nostalgic. There is a Golden Girls, vibrant Miami energy here, but filtered through a Louisiana landscape. Lush, playful, and unmistakably Southern.

Keep Me Where the Love Is is about recognizing the places that continue to shape us. The places that remind us to slow down, look closely, and realize we may have already found what we were searching for.
