Created during Taurus season, Float came from slowing down. After the urgency and experimentation of Aries, I found myself drawn to quieter compositions that relied less on information and more on atmosphere. This painting became an exercise in restraint, allowing stillness to carry as much weight as movement.

The turtle drifts just beneath the surface, suspended between water and light. It feels calm without being static, moving with the current rather than against it. There is something deeply familiar about that rhythm in South Louisiana, where water shapes both the landscape and the pace of everyday life.

Gold leaf became an essential part of the painting. As the light changes throughout the day, the surface shifts from soft honey tones to rich bronze reflections, giving the water a quiet sense of movement even when the painting itself remains still.

Part of the Land & Sea collection, Float is a reminder that not everything needs to be rushed. Sometimes the strongest path forward is the one that allows you to settle in, trust your surroundings, and simply drift for a while.
