This piece was painted on a day where I didn’t feel calm or clear or particularly inspired. I felt anxious, scattered, and honestly a little resistant to starting. But I painted anyway.

What came out of that was this. A Louisiana iris, but not quiet or delicate. It’s layered, a little chaotic, full of movement and color pushing against each other. It feels like energy finding somewhere to go.

This painting is a reminder that you don’t have to wait to feel perfect to begin. Sometimes the work meets you exactly where you are, and something opens up because you showed up.
